

Interceptive orthodontic treatment: Class III Underbite
This 11 year old patient initially presented with a class III skeletal malocclusion (underbite). He naturally occluded on his front incisors in an edge to edge bite due to the retruded position of the maxilla (upper jaw) and the prognathic position of the mandible (lower jaw). As a result of this skeletal discrepancy, the patient would often shift his lower jaw even more forward to avoid a traumatic edge to edge occlusion, which resulted in a more severe underbite and anterio
