Open bite closure with Invisalign

Anterior open bite is one of the many malocclusions that requires careful diagnosis and treatment planning by your orthodontist in order to provide proper orthodontic treatment. Open bites can be caused by a combination of tongue thrust habits, and dental and skeletal discrepancies. Traditional open bite treatment often involves myofunctional/habit therapy, orthodontic braces, and a combination of orthognathic surgical treatments. However, patients often desire an aesthetic option without surgical treatment whenever possible. This open bite class II malocclusion with a retruded mandible and tapered maxillary archform (Narrow palate) was treated non-surgically in a little over one year using only plastic Invisalign aligners. Notice how the patient can now bring her teeth together properly when biting with a harmonious occlusion and exceptional aesthetics. Plastic is fantastic!
