5 Back-to-School Tips for Braces
As summer comes to an end 😭, we are looking ahead to fall and the back to school rush📕. It’s easy to forget good braces hygiene in the midst of all the activity.
Dr. Nemes wanted to offer a few tips 📋 on braces care to patients who are returning to school📌.
1️⃣. Make a braces care kit. Keeping a care kit in your backpack or locker is always a good idea! Make sure it’s stocked with a toothbrush 🦷, toothpaste, floss and wax.
2️⃣. Stick to your braces “diet” 🍌. We know it can be challenging - especially when time pressed - but try to refrain from eating anything too hard, chewy or sticky so your braces stay in tip-top shape.
3️⃣. Pack a reusable water bottle 💧. Drinking water can help clear away any food residue that may be left behind after eating and will keep your braces clean.
4️⃣. Don’t forget a mouthguard. If you play contact sports 🏃♀️, Dr. Nemes recommends wearing a mouthguard. Let us know if you need help selecting the right one for you!
5️⃣. Maintain your check-ups 👨🏻⚕️. We understand it’s a busy time, but Dr. Nemes needs to see you to ensure your treatment is progressing as it should be and to make any necessary adjustments.
